TEAM LEADER- RMC 3RD IMCU (FT Days)
Riverside Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse Team Leader to join their dynamic Medical Surgical team in Kankakee, Illinois. This role is integral in supervising and coordinating patient care while providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients and leading a team of skilled nurses in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Oversee and guide the daily activities of the unit, promotes that all clinical practices and patient care protocols are adhered to with the utmost professionalism and accuracy
Assumes a patient assignment as needed to provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered by provider
Provide comprehensive cultural and age appropriate education to patients and their families regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, and care procedures
Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
Facilitate effective communication among nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
Mentor and train new and existing staff members
Partners with the Nurse Manager to monitor and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices
Lead the clinical response during emergencies, ensuring patient and staff safety and coordinating with other healthcare providers
Assist the Nurse Manager with staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, interviews, managing expenses, and other administrative tasks as needed to support the operational efficiency of the unit
Conduct patient rounds
Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment
Qualification
Required
Graduate of an approved school of nursing
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
New Graduate RNs starting on or after 1/1/25 must earn Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 3 years of start date
Preferred
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred
Experience caring for patient populations across the lifespan is highly desirable
Basic ECG rhythm interpretation skills preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
Professional certification in nursing specialty preferred
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or within 1 year of hire
