They are seeking a Structures and Dynamics Engineer II responsible for performing structural and dynamic analyses of gas turbine engine components and conducting dynamic tests to support product development and service issues.

Responsibilities

You will perform structural analysis using a combination of hand calculations and finite element analysis using ANSYS, ABAQUS and Siemens NX (Unigraphics) CAD
You will perform structural dynamic analysis, including rotor dynamics, torsional system dynamic analysis, and environmental equivalence
You will perform dynamic testing, including vibration qualification, self-induced rotating dynamic surveys, modal response, and experimental stress testing
You will pursue a thorough understanding of the background and methodology of the analytical and test tools being used
You will work with outsourced vendors and component suppliers, reviewing analyses and test reports
You will readily share experiences and information in the spirit of cooperation and teamwork

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred

Experience with FFT analysis and digital processing skills
Structural Dynamic testing and analysis experience
ANSYS, ABAQUS and Siemens NX (Unigraphics) CAD proficiency
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals
