Responsibilities

Calculate new business and renewal rates for complex group cases based on the analysis of a group’s experience, industry, location, and demographics

Establish a new business tracker and conduct competitive analysis on rates and plan design

Collaborate with data scientists to enhance reporting and monitor health plan performance to inform future pricing assumptions

Present changes to pricing assumptions to internal stakeholders; update underwriting guidelines and models with said changes

Update monthly IBNP analysis and coordinate with the finance team to support month end reporting

Support budget and forecast process

Build and maintain cutting edge models and methodologies to support core actuarial functions: pricing, IBNP, forecasting, health plan initiatives, and provider negotiations

Develop and manage actuarial peer review process to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of all modeling

Maintain strong relationships and lines of communication with internal and external stakeholders

Work adhering to US regulatory and Quality System requirements (21 CFR 820, etc)
