Quality Supervisor

Responsibilities
Supervise and direct work activity of team members on the designated shift. Distribute workload appropriately. Motivate and empower subordinates. Develop team members including, but not limited to, constructing and executing development plans
Work with team members to identify continuous improvement opportunities. Constantly identify and eliminate waste in assigned departments. Champion Lean Kaizen events to identify cost and time savings. Participate in cost-reduction programs. Coordinate new product launches with Engineering
Assesses quality performance (or cost-of-quality) using statistical and analytical methods. Devises and implements various methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, reliability and accuracy of products, processes and production equipment
Develops and establishes quality systems and procedures, inspection plans, quality performance trends, statistical plans, cost estimates and technical quality plans for proposals. Ensures that project and/or process control documentation is compliant with requirements and/or contract
Assesses the cost of, and determines the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications by performing statistical analyses
Determine staffing requirements for the assigned inspection area. Ensure that departmental productivity targets are met to meet customer requirements
Develop and deploy standardized work instructions of assigned department(s). Ensure process stability through following standardized work
Prepares reports by collecting, interpreting, analyzing and summarizing data and making recommendations. Analyzes proposed changes in methods and materials. Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities
Assesses quality performance (or cost-of-quality) using statistical and analytical methods
Participates in failure analysis and corrective action investigations
Refines and enhances products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to critical areas of production
Represents company by interfacing with customers, assisting with internal and external audits. May act as main contact in audit. Develops and coordinates corrective action procedures and plans
Makes quality related customer and vendor visits and contacts as required
Qualification
Required
B.A. /B.S. degree in a related technical or business discipline and 4+ years of directly related experience
Ability to effectively assess and implement continuous improvement techniques to quality and manufacturing functions
Ability to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools
Thorough knowledge of state-of-the-art inspection and quality inspection and quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)
Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives
Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities
Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals
Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change
Preferred
Proven experience with data reporting tools such as Alteryx, WebFocus
Experience with MS Power Apps, Forms, Power Automate
American Society for Quality certificate
