Responsibilities

Design roadways in accordance with AASHTO and MaineDOT specifications and CADD Standards using Microstation and InRoads/OpenRoads
Develop and oversee design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
Prepare engineering reports and technical studies such as design memos, feasibility studies, and concept design reports
Collaborate with team members, other disciplines and offices, and sub-consultants
Perform field investigations and construction phase services support
Interact with and present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public
Thorough understanding of project tasks within the overall project schedule, budgeting and available resources
Provide guidance to influence, mentor and train team members with positive growth-oriented perspective

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in design
Maine PE or ability to obtain within six months of hire
Working knowledge of AASHTO and MaineDOT design standards
Demonstrated proficiency with Microstation and InRoads
Ability to lead or assist leading a team through all phases of project document production
Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members
Strong oral and written communication skills in in-office and virtual environments
Pro-active attitude, attention to detail, punctual, and organized
Excellent time-management skills
Comprehensive approach to challenges and problem-solving

Preferred

Task management experience is a plus
More experienced individuals are encouraged to apply as there is flexibility in this position
OpenRoads experience is a plus
