Responsibilities
Lead and Mentor: Manage a small team of engineers, conducting regular one-on-ones, providing feedback, and supporting their professional and technical growth
Contribute Directly: Actively work as a backend engineer on the team, taking ownership of complex features from design through implementation and deployment
Drive Project Execution: Plan and manage the team’s sprint goals and project timelines, ensuring the successful delivery of the product roadmap
Uphold Technical Quality: Lead code and architecture reviews, set high standards for engineering quality, and ensure the team is building scalable and maintainable solutions
Collaborate and Align: Work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical tasks for the team
Qualification
Required
BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
7+ years of professional software development experience, with expertise in backend development
1+ years of experience in a leadership capacity, such as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager
Strong hands-on coding skills in Python or Golang and experience building scalable distributed systems
Experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and relational databases (SQL)
Proven ability to lead technical discussions and guide a team in making architectural decisions
Excellent communication skills and experience working in a collaborative, agile environment
A passion for both managing and mentoring engineers and being an active individual contributor
Preferred
Experience transitioning from a senior individual contributor role to a leadership position
Familiarity with full-stack development, including modern frontend technologies
Experience in the cybersecurity or AI/ML domain
Experience working with a team split across multiple time zones and geographies
