Start in 2026 SummerAmerican National Insurance Company is a longstanding organization in the insurance industry, and they are seeking a Finance – Strategic Initiatives Intern to gain hands-on experience in corporate development and finance. This internship will involve supporting various strategic initiatives, preparing analyses for senior leadership, and developing financial models.

Responsibilities
Partner with various teams and leadership across American National and Brookfield Wealth Solutions, building relationships and supporting in execution of value-creation initiatives
Prepare presentations and other analyses to support senior leadership decision-making, as well as communications with external stakeholders
Develop financial and insurance capital models (including public company valuation, credit analysis, and insurance capital impacts)
Conduct research and provide strategic advisory to senior leadership on the development of various strategies, products, end-markets, and potential transaction opportunities
Complete project and support tasks with guidance from mentor and department leader
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled in an accredited institution
Must hold a Sophomore standing
Must possess a minimum 3.5 GPA
Must be able to commit 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday
Must be able to work onsite in the posted location of the role
Candidates who are currently pursuing courses in finance, accounting, business, insurance, or economics
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel and PowerPoint)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
Strong organization skills and attention to detail with high-level accuracy
Must be able to meet deadlines and balance changing priorities
Preferred
Prior exposure to investment banking, private equity, credit, or asset management is a plus
