Responsibilities

Provide first-level HR consultation and guidance to campus and CMO leaders on employee relations, performance, attendance, leave, and policy interpretation
Conduct or assist in workplace investigations, interviews, and documentation under the direction of the Director or HR Business Partner
Support mediation, grievance, and complaint resolution processes to ensure fair, consistent, and timely outcomes in accordance with Uplift Education policies
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and ensure HR practices comply with FMLA, ADA, FLSA, TEA, SBEC, and related regulations
Manage onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes, ensuring accuracy of background checks, eligibility verifications, and required documentation
Process and maintain employee information in HRIS, including position changes, compensation updates, and separations, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality
Assist with the administration and tracking of annual compliance activities such as certification audits, mandatory trainings, and handbook acknowledgments
Support the implementation and documentation of Performance Development Plans (PDPs), coaching, and evaluations to promote employee growth and accountability
Collaborate with the HR Business Partner and leadership teams to identify and coordinate professional learning opportunities that strengthen compliance and leadership capacity
Compile, analyze, and report HR metrics related to turnover, absenteeism, investigations, and employee relations trends to inform decision-making and risk mitigation
Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Talent Management, Operations, and Compliance to ensure procedural alignment and equitable HR service delivery
Foster positive employee relations by building trust, improving communication, and promoting a culture of respect, engagement, and retention
Serve as a proactive change agent and contributor to People Team initiatives that drive continuous improvement, efficiency, and an exceptional employee experience

Required

Bachelor's degree or above in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related area
3+ years of applicable experience as an HR Generalist, HR Business Partner with meaningful experience resolving complex employee relations issues
Strong working knowledge of all pertinent Federal, state, and local regulations affecting Human Resources, including FLSA, EEO, HIPAA, FMLA, and ADA
Effective verbal and written communication skills to interpret information clearly and concisely communicate results and recommendations to stakeholders
Ability to maintain and project professionalism, internally and externally, at all times
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced features of Excel
Ability to use basic office equipment and learn and use other software as necessary (Frontline, Workday, etc.)
Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout Dallas/Ft Worth

Preferred

HR experience in the K-12 public education setting is highly preferred
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or PHR credential strongly preferred
Bilingual Skills: Spanish desirable; not required
