Sr. Global Account Manager

Responsibilities

Lead the strategy along with the Executive Sponsors, development, and performance of major global accounts, acting as the senior point of contact for multiple levels of client stakeholders
Build and maintain long-term partnerships while identifying expansion opportunities and new markets
Consult with clients to resolve issues, provide ongoing support, and ensure overall customer satisfaction and retention
Monitor customer needs, industry trends, and market intelligence to align PGL services with global demand
Develop and execute strategic sales plans and revenue targets for assigned global accounts
Prepare proposals, RFP responses, pricing schedules, quotes, contracts, and sales forecasts
Collaborate with sales teams and leadership to create solutions that drive margin, competitiveness, and operational efficiency
Conduct business reviews, analyze profitability, and recommend adjustments to maximize account performance
Ensure successful execution of global logistics solutions, including contract logistics, wholesale and e-commerce fulfillment, transportation, and delivery programs when applicable
Collaborate with operations leaders to integrate customer requirements into PGL’s systems and processes
Evaluate operational reports to improve efficiency, mitigate risk, and elevate service quality
Participate in carrier management processes, including performance evaluation and selection
Define, document, and maintain SOPs that meet or exceed client specifications
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across fulfillment, production, inventory, and transportation operations
Troubleshoot system and operational issues, implementing proactive controls to prevent recurrence
Engineer tailored logistics and fulfillment solutions to meet evolving customer and industry demands
Oversee real-time operational planning and ensure consistent communication between clients and internal teams
Coordinate delivery execution across global and local market networks
Monitor daily KPIs, performance metrics, and service commitments, accounts receivable, ensuring timely updates and transparent communication with customers
Assess and understand client technical requirements to recommend system configurations or operational setups
Prepare and deliver technical presentations and solution demos
Provide technical and non-technical support in solution deployment, system use, and product knowledge
Collaborate with engineering resources to develop custom solutions that reduce cost or improve performance
Maintain complete account documentation, activity logs, business reports, and forecasting analytics
Track client trends, operational results, and market shifts to inform leadership and support strategic planning
Support development of custom KPIs, reporting dashboards, and performance scorecards
Partner with internal departments—including operations, sales, and talent acquisition—to align resources with client needs
Assist in recruiting and training efforts by providing industry insights, operational context, and selection guidance
Train internal teams on SOPs, customer expectations, and best practices in global logistics and service delivery
Attend industry trade shows, seminars, and customer site visits to stay informed on global logistics trends and technologies
Investigate geographic markets, operational conditions, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities
Evaluate new product offerings, service models, or market strategies to support PGL’s global expansion

Required

7-10 Years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility working for a 3PL/Freight Forwarding Organization
In-depth Knowledge of specific and/or major industry markets, significant ability to communicate and establish strong relationships with industry partners and carriers
Industry-related degree and/or certification
Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
