Responsibilities

Strategic Data Leadership

Define and execute enterprise and mission data strategies that enable distributed coordination, decision advantage, and multi-domain operations

Develop phased implementation roadmaps aligned with modernization goals, deterrence posture, and mission outcomes

Architecture Design & Engineering

Lead the design of scalable, survivable data architectures that integrate across operational levels and domains

Architect federated, edge-aware data environments to support component coordination, precision fires, and dynamic targeting workflows

Implement data mesh, event-driven architecture, and interoperable design patterns

Data Flow Integration

Guide the development of secure, high-performance data flows using tools such as PAR, CurvePAR, DBT, NiFi and Apache Airflow

Integrate structured and unstructured data across strategic, operational, and tactical layers

Enable data delivery in contested, disconnected, or degraded environments

Operational and Fires Integration

Develop solutions that fuse intelligence, targeting, and operational data across sensors, compute layers, and transport networks

Enable workflows that support fires deconfliction, layered defense, and kill chain execution

Align data flows with mission systems such as C2BMC and other real-time coordination platforms

Mission Partner & Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with program offices, acquisition stakeholders, and mission partners to co-develop interoperable data architectures

Translate operational requirements into scalable, resilient technical designs

Communicate technical trade-offs clearly to diverse stakeholders

Governance & Compliance

Enforce data governance, stewardship, and Zero Trust principles across cloud, hybrid, and air-gapped systems

Ensure compliance with frameworks including DoD 5015.02, ICD 503, and cross-domain access policies

Align with joint acquisition standards and mission assurance objectives

Innovation and Mission Impact

Lead creation of white papers, technical roadmaps, and prototype solutions to influence modernization efforts

Advance innovation in multi-domain data sharing, edge analytics, and AI/ML-driven insights that support time-sensitive operations

Required

Active TS/SCI clearance

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience leading enterprise or tactical data architecture and engineering initiatives for national security or defense missions

Demonstrated success in designing cloud-native and hybrid data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

Strong expertise in distributed systems, data modeling, event-driven architecture, and API-first integration

Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and engage senior mission stakeholders across technical and operational domains

This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site

Preferred

Experience designing data architectures that support layered defense, dynamic fires coordination, and time-sensitive decision-making

Familiarity with mission data platforms such as Palantir, Anduril, C2BMC, or JADC2-aligned environments

Expertise in edge data processing, federation strategies, and survivable analytics in contested or low-bandwidth conditions

Understanding of sensor-to-shooter integration, kill chain workflows, and multi-domain targeting synchronization

Practical experience operationalizing AI/ML workflows, including model ingestion, feature engineering, and real-time inference

Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms is preferred; certifications are a plus but not required
