Covenant Health is dedicated to providing patient-focused care and is seeking a Trauma Clinical Data Analyst Specialist. In this role, you will review hospital records, collect and verify trauma patient data, perform coding of injuries, and ensure the accuracy of registry data.

Responsibilities

Reviews hospital records to locate all trauma activated patients and those injured patients not activated in the ED that meet State collection criteria

Collects comprehensive, accurate data relating to trauma patients by abstracting all trajectories of care

Verify & update all information compiled & enter data into the State Trauma system in a concurrent manner

Performs coding of injuries, procedures & causes of injuries using standard medical record references, specifically International Classification of Diseases (ICD), Tenth Revision codes

Assign diagnoses Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) & ICD-10CM (Clinical Modification) codes

Complete Injury Severity Scale (ISS) & other calculations for an average of seventeen (15) records per week

Provide quality assurance for clinical accuracy of registry data at all levels of care (capabilities of care)
