Responsibilities
Organizes, evaluates, and coordinates Medical Staff and Advance Practice Professionals support services within parameters determined by Medical Staff Leadership, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Clinical Officer
Serves as a resource and liaison for the Medical Staff and Advanced Practice Professionals as it relates to the Board of Trustees, Administration, Nursing Staff, and other advance practice professionals, conferring with the Legal department
Develops, implements, and coordinates ongoing activities to maintain effective communication among Medical Staff and Advanced Practice Professional members and hospital administration
Assists with the direction of Medical Staff activities as delineated in Medical Staff bylaws, manuals and policies and procedures to include establishing and maintaining a formal means of accountability for Medical Staff activities to the Board of Trustees
Ensures all credentialed providers meet minimum qualifications for membership and privileges
Assists in maintaining compliance with Joint Commission standards and other regulatory standards and requirements
Supports medical staff committee chairpersons and coordinates all aspects of committee meetings
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Education - Associate degree in Business related field of study
Experience - Three (3) years medical staff services, credentialing and privileging experience to include regulatory survey
In lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, may accept High School diploma with five (5) years of medical staff services experience and expertise to include credentialing, privileging, and regulatory, and certification as Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS)
Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, databases and data entry
Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
Mathematical skills
Working knowledge of ECHO Software
Written and verbal communication skills
Interpersonal skills
Preferred
Knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing physicians, advance practice providers related to licensure and credentialing preferred
