Technical Service Specialist - LC-MS, Toxicology Instrument Team

Responsibilities

Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation; perform scheduled/routine maintenance and critical function checks on the following analytical equipment: Waters Acquity UHPLC systems, Sciex triple quadrupole mass spectrometers, and Hamilton STAR robotic liquid handlers
Diagnose and repair issues occurring in the above listed equipment; recognize significant changes in instrument function; troubleshoot as indicated
Recognize when to contact external service vendors and work collaboratively to resolve issues quickly and efficiently to reduce overall down time of testing and/or instrument production
Maintain accurate records and documentation for all laboratory equipment including, but not limited to, maintenance logs and instrument logs
Schedule preventative maintenance and repairs internally and with external service vendors
Consult with laboratory staff to ascertain that equipment functions properly and safely
Demonstrate and explain correct operation of equipment to laboratory personnel
Provide troubleshooting assistance to laboratory personnel
Document and communicate equipment status to lab supervisors

Required

Minimum of 4 years of experience in a laboratory setting including some instrumental analysis, specifically LC-MS
Proven mechanical skills
Strong understanding of instrumental analysis and ability to apply that understanding to the diagnosis of instrumental errors
Proven ability to balance and prioritize competing tasks while working independently
Strong interpersonal communication and listening skills; ability to communicate in an effective and timely manner
Excellent problem-solving skills
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology

Preferred

Preferred proficiency in Analyst, Sciex OS and Waters Acquity software
