Software Development Engineer - Amazon Leo Network Services

Amazon is launching the Leo initiative to provide broadband network connectivity through a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites. As a Software Development Engineer, you will be responsible for building ground-based traffic processing pipelines and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and availability of the services developed.

Responsibilities

You will develop code, build CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and dashboards for monitoring health of systems and data pipelines
You will work with multiple cross functional teams to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate the infrastructure you build
You will develop and mentor junior and new team members
You will engineer and build a cloud service that is reliable and available to provide connectivity for our customers
You will work on features that enhance the quality of service and security for our customers
You will collaborate and work on initiatives across multiple teams to build networking functions on AWS cloud infrastructure and set best practices for software development processes

Required

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred

Experience building services using AWS products
Experience in software development, or experience in Linux and Networking protocols
Experience troubleshooting networks (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, cURL or similar/related technology)
Experience with C/C++ or Rust programming language
