Responsibilities
Assemble, install, and align conveyor systems and other food production equipment in accordance with layout plans, blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer specifications
Ensure precise installation of equipment including motors, gearboxes, belts, rollers, bearings, and guides
Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and other skilled trades during installation projects
Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, hoists, and measuring instruments to complete mechanical installations
Modify or fabricate parts as necessary to ensure proper fit and function
Follow and enforce safety protocols and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)
Assist with equipment testing, adjustments, and operational startup
Identify potential mechanical or alignment issues and troubleshoot during installation
Document work performed and update maintenance records as required
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area throughout the installation process
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in mechanical installation, preferably in a food manufacturing or industrial setting
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and installation procedures
Experience installing conveyor systems, gear drives, pneumatic components, and stainless-steel food-grade equipment
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals
Proficient with welding (TIG/MIG preferred), rigging, and alignment techniques
Must be physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Technical or vocational training preferred
Forklift and scissor lift certification is a plus
