Responsibilities
Lead, direct, and coordinate all activities of the Union Payroll Team to ensure the successful, accurate, and timely processing of weekly and bi-weekly union and freelance employees in accordance with collective bargaining agreements and in compliance with applicable policies and federal, state, and local regulations
Collaborate cross-functionally and cross-divisionally to address internal and external stakeholder queries effectively
Manage the delivery of excellent customer service; anticipate issues and proactively develop solutions
Create and use metrics to benchmark performance and improve service delivery
Handle escalations, directing the Union Payroll team and guiding other departments in corrective actions
Implement scalable solutions to business issues and share lessons learned to prevent future occurrences
Work with business partners to establish and adhere to payroll schedules, ensuring all data required for processing is received on time and all deadlines are met
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience leading payroll operations for a large, multi-state, multi-entity organization with a high employee volume, including remote staff
At least 5 of those years must be within a media or entertainment industry union payroll environment, ideally at a major studio
Strong knowledge of FLSA, as well as federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and tax regulations
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables)
Experience managing payroll processes in complex, fast-paced environments with multiple deadlines
