Senior Field Technician - Air Emissions

The Senior Field Technician will direct and execute complex source testing projects across various industrial sectors, overseeing field testing programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mentoring junior technicians.

Responsibilities
In the field lead project team and perform on-site stack testing and source emissions monitoring in accordance with federal and regional regulatory methods (e.g., EPA Reference Methods, ECCC)
Plan and manage assigned field deployments, including crew logistics, equipment preparation, and safety procedures
Analyze collected data and ensure QA/QC protocols are strictly followed throughout testing and reporting processes
Serve as a technical liaison with clients, regulators, and internal teams to communicate project scope, progress, and findings
Train, mentor, and oversee junior field technicians and new team members on project assignments
Troubleshoot and maintain analytical and sampling skills equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability
Support project scoping, scheduling, and budgeting in collaboration with project managers and senior leadership
Keep current with evolving environmental regulations and industry best practices as a team
Prepare high-quality technical reports, including regulatory documentation, emissions data summaries, and field observations
Qualification
Required
Post-secondary education in Environmental Technology, Engineering, Chemistry or a related field
Strong computer and analytical technical 'hands-on' skills
An aptitude for practical problem-solving
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
Must have a valid driver's license
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong people and team skills as well as being highly motivated
An ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with no supervision
Exceptional organizational capabilities, coordination, and consultation skills
Willingness to travel, and work outdoors including working long hours, evenings, and weekends
Collect samples at locations that may require working at heights and outdoors in all weather conditions
Preferred
Preferably, a minimum of 5-years experience working in the Air Quality field
Ambient monitoring experience is an asset
Field/site experience is a definite asset
