Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive preventive maintenance plan for all automated assembly line equipment (e.g., ultrasonic welders, soldering machines, glue dispensers, robotic systems) to maximize uptime and equipment reliability
Lead hands-on troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and control systems on the assembly lines. Quickly diagnose equipment malfunctions (including debugging PLCs/robotics) and coordinate prompt corrective actions to minimize production downtime
Monitor and analyze assembly line performance metrics (cycle time, yield, OEE, etc.) to ensure optimal efficiency. Identify bottlenecks or process issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, lean manufacturing) that enhance throughput, quality, and cost-effectiveness
Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and maintenance technicians. Provide hands-on guidance and training, assign daily tasks, and lead by example on the factory floor to foster a proactive, high-performance maintenance culture
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Engineering) to optimize line layout and process flow for better productivity
Support new product launches and engineering changes by ensuring equipment readiness, conducting process validations, and smoothing the integration of new products into existing assembly lines
Ensure all engineering and maintenance activities comply with OSHA workplace safety regulations and relevant industry standards. Uphold adherence to product and quality standards (e.g., UL certification requirements, ISO 9001/IATF 16949), and promote a culture of safety and quality on the production floor
Oversee the installation and commissioning of new or upgraded automation equipment on the production lines, working closely with equipment vendors and global engineering teams to integrate best practices and improvements
Maintain detailed maintenance logs and technical documentation. Establish and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation, setup, and maintenance to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer
Manage the spare parts and consumables inventory for the assembly lines. Coordinate with procurement to ensure critical spare parts are in stock and readily available to support preventive maintenance and rapid repairs
