They are seeking a Bid Technical Manager to lead tender engineering activities, manage functional engineering for tenders, and ensure alignment with project costs and planning for Automated People Mover projects.

Responsibilities

Managing the interfaces with the Tender core team and ensuring engineering internal interfaces
Performing technical exchanges with the customer
Analyzing customer requirements and identifying gaps versus the reference product
Providing technical documentation for tender submission to the customer
Defining the best compromise to address the gaps (QCD) including Mechanical and Functional Architecture
Identifying technical risks and ensuring they are addressed by dedicated action plans agreed upon by the Platform and Metiers
Establishing engineering QCD commitments, including master planning, costing, PDO, risk assessment, and management plans
Validating engineering assumptions and outputs with the Site Engineering Director (or Bid Technical Manager) and Bid Manager
Applying a design-to-cost approach
Demonstrating a customer-oriented approach and fostering effective communication and relationships

Required

Degree in Engineering
Experience or understanding of design in rail or similar industries such as automotive, truck, buses, or aerospace
Familiarity with Engineering development DFQ sequences and design-to-cost approaches
Knowledge of product architecture, operation, and performance
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
People management experience
Customer-oriented approach with the ability to perform technical exchanges effectively
Good understanding of the tender process and the roles of key players

Preferred

Electrical or Mechanical background preferred
Knowledge of train operation and maintenance (preferred)
