Responsibilities

Observe, maintain, adjust, clean, remove cans and make minor repairs to automatic lacquer spraying machines and related equipment as required to maintain standard quality and quantity production on assigned equipment

Start/stop lacquer room equipment, including pumps, vibrators, exhaust fans, etc

Set up and adjust all spray room equipment when necessary

Detect and remove defective cans by visually examining production flow

Remove all jams from assigned equipment

Lubricate assigned equipment as required

Start up and shut down ovens

Place lacquer waste materials into proper containers

Maintain checklists, lubrication lists or other related records as required

Receive and offload tanker trucks

In addition to performing maintenance duties, concurrently maintain and/or operate equipment as assigned

This person will have primary responsibility for safety in all areas of the assigned duties

Required

Minimum 18 years old

Must possess basic math skills

Must be able to comply with all OSHA and WISHA safety rules and regulations

Must be able to stand for long periods as well as climbing stairs and working on elevated stationary platforms and withstand extreme climate changes especially during summer months

Ability to work under time pressures and flexibility to adjust to sudden work patterns or schedules

Ability to work independently and with teams. Must have good interpersonal skills

Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, evenings, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate

This position requires union membership after 30 days of hire
