They are seeking an undergraduate intern to assist with complex projects in recombinant protein expression, purification, and testing while providing exposure to Danaher Business System fundamentals.

Responsibilities
Express recombinant proteins in microbial or eukaryotic expression systems at scales ranging from milliliter to hundreds of liters using shake flasks and automated bioreactors
Purify recombinant proteins at scales ranging from milligrams to tens of grams using automated chromatography systems
Characterize in-process samples and purified proteins using methods including, but not limited to, OD determination, metabolite profiling, SDS-PAGE, RP-HPLC, aSEC, LAL assay
Develop assays for testing purified proteins against a panel of release criteria
Complete project plans according to all specifications, including timeline and budget
Evaluate and implement new technologies and work practices in the fields of protein expression, purification, and characterization
Prepare and deliver final presentation to the team on work performed during the internship
Qualification
Required
Working towards an undergraduate degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, microbiology or a closely related field
Previous lab experience
Preferred
Exposure to one or a combination of the following is preferred: automated single-use or stainless bioreactor systems and control software, GE ÄKTA systems and unicorn software or HPLC systems and control/data analysis software
