Responsibilities
Provide assistance to the Office of Solid Waste Director in planning, directing, and supervising the operations and activities of the Office of Solid Waste, including contracted collection and disposal, a system of public collection sites for residential waste and recyclables and long-term care
Maintain vital records and files and direct supervision of department staff
Manage and supervise staff, budgets and securing program resources, always ensuring the provision of professional customer service
Prepare and submit reports and recommendations to the Director and County officials
Assist in developing and implementing programs within organizational policies; report major activities to the Director and executive level administrators through conferences, presentations, and reports
Provide continuity of leadership
Assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture, Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field
Five years of progressively responsible related experience
Valid Florida driver's license
Certification as Manager of Landfill Operations within one year of hire
