ROTC PROGRAM MANAGER

Northwestern State University is seeking an ROTC Program Manager in the Department of Military Science. The role involves recruiting, advising, and counseling students regarding US Army career opportunities through education, as well as managing departmental operations and events.

Responsibilities

Recruit, advise, and counsel students regarding US Army career opportunities through education
Provide information on degree and course selection, financial aid availability, and reviewing previous education, including military experiences
Answer routine inquiries about the Army, Army ROTC program, and the university
Assist with budget and expenditures
Track reports on the progress toward goals and the effectiveness of recruiting and retention strategies
Plan and organize department events
Prepare correspondence
Update social media
Work closely with alumni
Assist students with registration for classes offered by the department
Compile grading reports
Ensure department procedures, reports, forms, and correspondence are produced in accordance with faculty instructions and university and Army policies
Participate in award and scholarship selection, the accreditation process, department and faculty improvement programs, recruiting, grant writing, research, departmental and university committees, and official functions
Maintain prescribed office hours and perform other duties as assigned by the department, college, or university

Required

Experience in supervision of subordinate personnel
Broad understanding of the various Department of the Army educational benefits and programs
Knowledgeable of the development of marketing plans and the requirements of student recruiting, advising, and retention
Experience in preparing assessments and related reports on progress toward goals
Knowledge of Microsoft office programs including MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Excel
Ability to manage the department web page and social media outlets
