Responsibilities
Manage Operations: Oversee installation, configuration, backups, and patching for a mixed fleet of SQL Servers
Tune Performance: Troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, and slow queries
Ensure Availability: Maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) systems, including Always On Availability Groups and Transactional Replication
Support Development: Advise teams on SQL best practices, indexing, and code optimization
On-Call: Provide support for overnight batch jobs and critical production incidents
Qualification
Required
8+ years as a SQL Server DBA in a production environment
Deep knowledge of SQL Server internals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting tools
Hands-on experience with Always On, Failover Clustering, and Log Shipping
Ability to clearly guide developers and stakeholders on database best practices
