SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC INSPECTOR SUPERVISOR

Responsibilities
(1) Planning: Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor
(2) Work Direction: Assigns tasks to be performed based on readiness and explains work requirements, methods, and procedures
(3) Administration: Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Determines training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment
(4) Performs the non-supervisory work of the function, as needed, such as performing maintenance and/or inspection tasks on equipment, equipment operations, or other non-supervisory functions
(5) Ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures established for the activity. Ensures use of quality conformant products through compliance with established materials shelf life programs
(6) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises
(7) Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must hold the grade of E-7 thru W-2
Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position
An applicant's RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below
Resume must be two pages or less
It must be documented with 'from (mm/yy)' and 'to (mm/yy)' dates and description of the specialized experience
Must have at least 36 months of experience in each of the following: Experience leading to an extensive knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex interconnecting systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment
Experience diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying interconnected complex systems on a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment
Experience working with state of the art electrical, electronic, complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and other major non-mechanical systems that have a functional relationship and effect on the operation of major mechanical systems
Experience with hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls
Experience developing or improvising methods, altering parts, and making repairs in the absence of technical guidelines
Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel
Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines
Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes
Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position
