Responsibilities
Provide academic support and tutoring to students
Monitor attendance and coursework completion for a designated grade-level cohort, using data systems and online platforms
Take and maintain attendance records based on student engagement and coursework progress
Actively participate in weekly Student Progress Meetings to discuss student needs and plan targeted interventions
Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to implement individualized support strategies
Leverage online systems such as Enginuity to track student progress and assist with virtual instruction
Build positive relationships with students to foster academic motivation, consistency, and accountability
Use Microsoft Excel and other data tracking tools to manage and report on student progress and intervention effectiveness
Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team focused on student achievement
Function as a self-starter, capable of managing a flexible schedule and adapting support based on student needs
Assist with the administration and coordination of both state and local testing, including preparation, proctoring, and follow-up tasks
Ensure compliance with testing protocols and timelines, supporting accurate and efficient test implementation
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Math and Reading endorsement or a ZG endorsement
Familiarity with online learning platforms, especially Edgenuity, or willingness to be trained
Proven ability to tutor and support students
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse student populations
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and student data systems
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and take initiative
Experience in academic intervention, credit recovery, or online/hybrid learning environments
Background in tracking student attendance, academic metrics, and implementing data-driven interventions
Experience working with high school students in a support or instructional role
Prior involvement with test administration or coordination of standardized testing processes
