The Container Store is the leading specialty retailer of storage and organization products in the United States. The Staff Accountant position is responsible for preparing and recording journal entries, conducting account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close and audits.

Responsibilities

Maintain accounting schedules in line with GAAP and company policies

Prepare and record journal entries

Prepare and review account reconciliations

Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure expenses are recorded accurately

Support month-end close activities

Assist with the annual budgeting process

Support the accounting team with projections, analysis, and other strategic projects as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree required

Experience with general ledger accounting required

Position based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with a hybrid work schedule

Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and solid Excel knowledge

Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization

Ability to identify high-priority tasks and focus on the most impactful work

Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

High attention to detail while working quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Accounting concentration preferred

CPA or CPA candidate is a plus

Retail industry experience preferred
