Responsibilities
Lead schematic capture, circuit simulations, and part selection for new designs. Develop advanced analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit blocks for products
Perform in-depth root cause analysis on complex hardware failures or field issues
Define system-level electrical specifications in collaboration with systems engineering
Lead cross-functional design reviews and resolve open technical issues
Oversee layout and routing to ensure performance, thermal, and EMI compliance
Establish verification plans and ensure full test coverage for design validation
Mentor junior engineers on test methodology, circuit analysis, and documentation practices
Work with manufacturing teams to develop production test strategies and jigs
Track task progress, update project schedules, and communicate status to stakeholders
Integrate new technology into designs, including advanced microcontrollers or power ICs
Write comprehensive design documentation, including test reports and design justifications
Manage engineering build logistics, including BOM review and kit releases
Lead peer design reviews and contribute to the electrical design checklist process
Collaborate with suppliers to optimize cost, availability, and performance of critical components
Analyze and mitigate EMC/ESD risks through simulation, testing, and shielding techniques
Drive improvements in PCB layout guidelines and design tool usage
Review and approve changes to PCBs and assemblies
Ensure component libraries are up-to-date and meet internal design standards
Support product sustainment efforts for obsolescence and customer issue resolution
Develop guidelines for documentation consistency and release processes
Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or program
Three (3) to five (5) years of direct electrical work experience
Strong technical, analytical, planning, time management, organizational, and conflict resolution skills
Strong working knowledge of electrical engineering concepts with proven experience designing circuits, analyzing test data, and independently validating design performance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical analyses and financial justifications to support decision-making at all organizational levels
Ability to function effectively in an environment of constantly changing priorities, goals, and direction, often under stressful conditions and time constraints
Strong team focus and the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Preferred
Prior experience in the design of hand-held electronic products and rechargeable battery systems
Experience with small rechargeable batteries (e.g., 18650, Li-Po pouch) and USB charging methodologies
Prior experience with AC/DC, DC/AC, and DC/DC power electronics
