Required

Four years of full-time paid experience as a journey level mechanic specializing in heavy equipment, diesel engines and hydraulic systems; OR completion of a recognized apprenticeship program for repair of heavy equipment; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
A valid Class “A” Commercial Driver's License must be obtained within six months of hire and must be maintained for continued employment in this classification
Basic mechanic's tools, including a tool box, customarily used to perform the duties of this position are required at the time of appointment
A Hazmat Endorsement is required to run lube truck and must be maintained for continued employment in this classification

Schedule flexibility for someone living in Reno (i.e. 4 day over-night assignment in Gerlach and travel from Reno)
Washoe County pays 100% of the PERS contribution for each benefit eligible employee.
Washoe County contributes 100% of the premium for each employee. Washoe County also contributes 50% of the premium for dependent coverage.
Washoe County contributes up to $2,500 annually (based on benefit effective date and coverage tier) into the employee's Health Savings Account (HSA).

There are no Social Security deductions (although a 1.45% deduction for Medicare is required)
Nevada does not have state or local income tax
