Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using Python and PySpark
Build, schedule, and monitor complex workflows using Airflow, ensuring reliability and maintainability
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines leveraging GitHub, Docker, and cloud-native tools
Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices and automate unit and integration tests for data pipelines
Enforce secure coding standards and best practices across the development lifecycle
Partner with Data Architects, QA, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
Maintain comprehensive system design documentation, including data and process flow diagrams
Lead a small engineering team and mentor junior developers on coding, testing, and deployment best practices
Diagnose and resolve issues across the data stack, including pipeline errors and performance bottlenecks
Cross-train partner teams (e.g., operations support) to ensure coverage and continuity
Qualification
Required
7+ years of overall IT experience, with proven experience as a Technical Lead
Strong hands-on expertise in Python, PySpark, and Airflow
Experience designing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Docker, and cloud-native tools
Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as OpenShift, Cloudera, Tableau, Confluence, and Jira
Background in waterfall, iterative, and Agile development methodologies
Knowledge and application of Test-Driven Development (TDD)
Excellent leadership, collaboration, and mentoring skills
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues
