Engineering HVAC Technician - Full Time
Jennie Stuart Health is looking for an Engineering HVAC Technician to assist in planning and executing HVAC projects. The role involves inspecting and testing various HVAC systems, isolating defects, replacing mechanical parts, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities
Assist the director in planning, estimating and projects
Familiar with tools of trade, interpretation of diagrams and schematics, codes, and types of materials
Regularly inspects and tests medical air, vacuum and chillers, life safety equipment, signal/alarm equipment, communication, and plant distribution/operation systems
Competently isolates defects in HVAC wiring, switches, motors, and HVAC equipment components using test equipment
Examines and tests elements of systems to locate obvious faults
Competently replaces such defective mechanical parts as gears, bearings, and related devices according to need
Accurately installs new HVAC equipment machinery; studies blueprints/diagrams/specs sheets to determine layout, location, and cost estimate if items to be installed
Operates and ensures that the life safety equipment is maintained and documented as required
Maintains an attitude for life safety, energy conservation
Ultimately responsible for HVAC concern at all facilities
Supports the SDS, Hazardous Communication, EOC, and Infection Control policies and procedures
Answers routine questions regarding hospital and departmental operations, policies and procedures
Works as maintenance mechanic when not performing as tradesmen
May have supplemental duties
Works on and repairs HVAC Air Handler units
Works on and uses building management system
Maintains and repairs transit tube system
In charge of filter replacement program
Maintains HVAC supply, return and exhaust systems
Qualification
Required

Minimum Education: High School Diploma, GED, Trade School or College preferred
Minimum Experience: 3 years experience

Trade School or College preferred
Factory training on HVAC operation preferred
