Biocontainment Equipment Technician II, Institutional Office of Regulated Non-clinical Studies

Responsibilities

Performs analysis and isolation of mechanical or electronic malfunctions
Inspects and tests equipment and apparatus to ensure specified functional qualities according to blueprints or written specifications
Examines and tests equipment to identify the cause of malfunctions or inaccuracies
Disassemble equipment to locate malfunctioning components and repair or replace defective parts
Reassembles equipment and adjusts and calibrates precision components to ensure specified operation
Participates in the development of quality control and preventive maintenance programs
Runs safety tests on potentially all medical and/or laboratory equipment and record documentation
Adheres to internal controls established for the department
Performs related duties as required

Required

Associate's degree in Electronics or Biomedical Technology
Three years of related experience is required
An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position
Understanding of standard research laboratory equipment
