Gates Corporation is a leading manufacturer of application-specific fluid power and power transmission solutions. They are seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee all accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities at their Salem, NH manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

Own full responsibility for the plant’s Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and Balance Sheet, ensuring accuracy, compliance with company policies, and timely financial reporting
Oversee month-end close process, including preparation and coordination of journal entries and account reconciliations
Lead annual budgeting activities, including labor, overhead, and standard product costing
Manage weekly and monthly forecasting processes to ensure accurate financial projections
Coordinate and prepare financial reports for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end using both traditional and flexible models
Provide daily, weekly, and monthly operational and financial metrics in support of local Operations and Corporate Finance teams
Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to support capital project approval processes
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, SOX requirements, and corporate policies
Oversee local functions including product costing, payroll, accounts payable, and fixed asset management
Lead, mentor, and develop members of the finance team to support professional growth and department goals

Required

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance or Accounting
3 plus years of accounting experience (manufacturing a plus)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and SQL queries
Experience with standard product cost accounting
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred

Microsoft Dynamics strongly preferred
ERP system experience strongly preferred
