The Optical Systems Technician will contribute to the automation of ophthalmological surgical procedures by assembling, testing, calibrating, and maintaining optical systems.

Responsibilities
Precision optical system assembly, alignment, calibration, and repair
Optical measurement and test, including resolution, field of view, radiometric, etc
Assembly and alignment of optomechanical systems
Fiber handling and termination
Optical benchtop work
Mechanical benchtop work
Electrical benchtop work
Maintaining logs and build travelers
Authoring, maintaining, and following build instructions and SOPs
Verification testing and data logging
Creating, updating, maintaining, and providing feedback on electronic log books, assembly instructions, inventory logs, travelers, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, status reports, and other documentation
Collaborative working
Qualification
Required
High school degree or equivalent
Experience working with optical systems
Experience with electronics assembly and/or repair
Detail oriented and persistent in iterative alignment tasks
Good communication skills (verbal, written, and visual)
Good organization skills
Preferred
Associate's degree, a technical/trade school certificate/diploma, or Bachelor's Degree
Experience with Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
Experience in medical, automotive, aerospace, or other highly regulated industry
Experience in microscope or camera lens repair
Experience with mechanical design in CAD
Experience with 3D printing (SLA and FDM)
Experience with machining and fabrication
