This role involves creating editorial content for various mediums, assisting the Staff Writer, and gaining experience in the sports media industry while covering the MLS season.

Responsibilities

Pitch and craft editorial content for FC Cincinnati Academy which could include attending MLS NEXT and MLS NEXT Pro matches and training sessions

Assist the club Beat Writer by attending first team matches to produce content that helps inform supporters and promote the club

Contribute as a copywriter and storyteller for promotional content

Collaborate with the larger Comms and Content team to develop engaging content across all FC Cincinnati channels

Required

Currently pursuing a degree that accepts academic credit for an internship

High level writing and reporting skills

Experience covering sports from a journalistic or otherwise editorial background

Passion for the game of soccer

Experience interviewing players, coaches and sports staff for the purpose of creating written web content

Journalism or newsroom experience

Ability to work outside of regular business hours including but not limited to weekends and holidays as required by the FCC game schedule, special events, and projects
