Responsibilities
You will be responsible for architecting our systems in GCP, as well as leading and delivering on multiple critical and complex technical initiatives in GKE and GCE
You will work with stakeholders and internal customers to align their requirements with project roadmaps and technical design
At important junctures, you will evaluate pros and cons and provide guidance and recommendations on which design decisions or technical direction to take
You will be the sounding board for management to navigate various priorities and maintain a roadmap
You will produce stellar technical specs and documentation
You will mentor junior engineers in the engineering organization
You will participate in hiring efforts

Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience in an SRE or DevOps role, preferably in a cloud environment
Experience as a technical lead or architect for large scale, distributed, consumer facing applications
Bash/Python/Go proficiency essential. PHP/Node proficiency is more of a bonus
In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems and experience with hypervisors, Linux containers and orchestration managers
Design experience with Service Oriented Architecture and hands on experience with container management tooling (like Kubernetes)
Comfortable providing estimates or project ideas that will influence your team's roadmap
Strong collaborator and communicator and can mentor other engineers
Written communication is concise and clear
Able to step up to lead the team when necessary, or dive deep to help with most challenging technical details
