Responsibilities
Serve as a full-time substitute teacher for lower school classes (grades K-5), adapting to the needs of the school each day
Deliver engaging and effective instruction across various subjects, following prepared lesson plans and adapting them as necessary
Manage classroom environments to maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe space for all students
Collaborate with grade-level teams, administrators, and other faculty to support student learning and school initiatives
Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, serving as a reliable and approachable presence in the school community
Assist with additional duties as assigned, including supervising lunch, recess, or other school activities
Maintain accurate student attendance, behavior, and progress records, and communicate with appropriate staff as needed
Provide feedback to teachers on student performance and classroom dynamics when covering for extended periods
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
Prior experience working with elementary-age children, preferably in a classroom setting
Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create a structured and engaging learning environment
Ability to execute lesson plans effectively and adapt to the needs of diverse learners
Dedication to supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students
Flexibility and an ability to work across various disciplines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable with incorporating the latest technology into your workflow, including Google Classroom, Seesaw, and Zoom
Skilled in navigating the Google Suite of applications (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.)
Flexibility, reliability, and a positive attitude toward working in a dynamic school environment
Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and school staff
Commitment to the mission, vision, and pillars of the Pingry School, including a commitment to DEIB and the requisite skills to work cross-functionally with diverse constituency groups across the organization
