Responsibilities

Collaborate with community Veteran agencies, organizations, schools, neighborhoods, and other organizations to identify needs, resources, and program priorities

Assist the SMVF Regional Navigator in planning, implementing, and evaluating culturally appropriate and sensitive prevention education programs for Veterans and their families

With a staff of Peer Support Specialists, a Job Coach, and an Education-Vocation Specialist, set forth the initiatives of the SMVF program in meeting the SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant priorities, and linking Veterans to the best possible Healthcare Services and other stressor-reducing programs for Veterans and their families

Participate in information dissemination activities and online and in-person group workshop facilitation, providing suicide prevention education, substance abuse, tobacco use, and mental health information, and educational programs, vocational programs, and employment services

Maintain documentation regarding Suicide Prevention program implementation data, including participation, number, and content of programs and activities, and evaluation of the data

Maintain a working knowledge of other community resources and service programs

Assist other Prevention staff in providing Prevention programs, resources, and other family, and community and youth issues

Assist the SMVF Regional Navigator in areas related to program planning or outcome measures

Perform other duties as assigned by the SMVF Regional Navigator

Qualification

Masters Degree in human servicesVeteran statusPersonal transportation

Required

Candidate MUST be a Veteran, Dependent, or Spouse of a Veteran

Possession of a valid driver's license at the time of employment and availability of personal transportation for on-the-job use as needed

Preferred

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Masters Degree in human service field (including but not limited to Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or equivalent
