They are seeking a Controls Specialist who will design and implement advanced control systems for automotive assembly and battery pack production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize existing systems and introduce new technologies.

Responsibilities
Design and implement embedded control algorithms and software for machine control and data collection systems
Develop and integrate PLC programs, embedded software, and system architectures
Lead controls projects from concept through commissioning, including scope creation, procurement, and progress monitoring
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new technologies and optimize existing systems
Perform root cause analysis and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Support model changes and innovation projects within assembly engineering
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or related field
Experience in embedded controls, software engineering, and PLC programming
Knowledge of control system architecture and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet)
Ability to read/write SQL and PLC code for production control systems
Strong project management skills and ability to work in a team environment
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Knowledgeable regarding automotive industry or manufacturing processes
Motivated & passionate about working with people and overcoming challenges through collaboration and a win-win paradigm
An ability to travel; currently travel is approximately 25% for controls specialists
Preferred
Experience with TOYOPUC or Omron is an asset
Familiarity with automotive assembly processes, is an asset
The ability to travel to Canada is a plus
