Senior Consultant- Project Manager
NYSTEC is a nonprofit technology consulting company that has been advising agencies and organizations since 1996. They are seeking a Senior Consultant- Project Manager to lead independent verification and validation (IV&V) efforts, ensuring quality and compliance of vendor-implemented software solutions for their clients.

Responsibilities
Evaluate the vendor’s project management practices, technical processes, and deliverables to ensure alignment with client requirements and industry standards
Advise the client on opportunities to improve project planning, execution, and risk management to enhance the likelihood of successful implementation
Communicate findings, recommendations, and progress updates through clear reports and briefings to client stakeholders
Oversee IV&V project activities, schedules, and resources to ensure timely, objective, and value-added support throughout the engagement
Facilitate collaboration between the client, vendor, and other stakeholders to promote transparency, accountability, and effective issue resolution
Monitor project risks, dependencies, and change management activities proactively, providing independent analysis and recommendations for mitigation
Apply knowledge of systems development life cycles, project management methodologies, and industry best practices to guide IV&V activities
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and developing strategies to strengthen future project governance and delivery
Qualification
Required
Ability to plan, execute, and manage complex technology projects, including schedule, scope, and resource management
Excellent understanding of IV&V principles, methodologies, and best practices for assessing vendor-delivered solutions
Familiarity with systems implementation, software development life cycles (SDLC), and integrating third-party solutions
Ability to evaluate project data, identify risks and issues, and develop actionable recommendations for improvement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical and project information clearly to diverse audiences
Ability to learn and apply new content and skills and adapt to evolving client needs
A bachelor's degree in a technical field and four years of related experience
An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered
Preferred
Experience working on information technology projects
Project management professional (PMP) certification
Knowledge of agile methodologies, such as scrum and Kanban
Experience managing large-scale projects with multiple teams from other organizations
Ability to provide strategic insights and practical recommendations that enhance client outcomes, strengthen project performance, and deliver measurable business value
