Director of Regulatory Compliance
Western Botanicals is a fast-growing dietary supplement and sports nutrition manufacturer located in Spanish Fork, UT. They are seeking a Director of Regulatory Compliance to lead and expand their Regulatory Compliance department, ensuring compliance with Quality Policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Regulatory Guidelines while driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
Monitor, maintain, and enforce regulatory control of production, documentation, and labeling
Co-Lead audits with local, state, and federal regulatory bodies to ensure the company remains in good standing with these bodies
Co-Lead audits with third-party certification bodies (NSF, Kosher, Halal, Organic, etc) to ensure the company remains in good standing with these bodies
Lead customer audits of company facilities and quality systems
Interface with customer quality units to help resolve quality issues and questions as they arise
Develop a high performance, regulatory-minded team through feedback, coaching, training, mentoring, and support
Communicate and coordinate with Quality Unit and upper manager regarding deviations, unanticipated occurrences, and audit observations
Create an atmosphere of professionalism, orderliness, and cleanliness
Work with other members of the Quality Unit to help enforce regulatory compliance throughout the facilities
Review and update SOPs and other quality related documents to ensure they stay up to date with current practices and regulations
Ensure and enforce compliance with all applicable legal regulations
Provide counsel to operations team on regulatory related decisions
Participate in recall decisions and recall procedures
Qualification
Required
Training certificates – cGMP training or equivalent
Supervisor experience – Minimum of 2+ years of direct supervision of employees is required
Quality related work experience – 5+ years in cGMP related industry with quality experience
Regulatory and Compliance work experience – 5+ years of being responsible for initiation and upkeep of one or more of the following company-wide certifications: Organic, Kosher, Halal, NSF GMP, SSCI, SQF, or Equivalent
Experience leading quality audits from customers, certification, and regulatory bodies
Technical and quality assurance aptitude to understand all areas of operations, manufacturing, and fulfillment
Employee training as it relates to employment and work position
Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft suites
Strong technical writing skills to create SOP's and regulatory documents
Legible handwriting
Excellent attention to detail
Good communication and interpersonal skills to be able to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
Able to be assertive as needed to enforce quality standards
Have and extensive knowledge and grasp of all regulatory standards as they pertain to the job
Extensive knowledge of certification processes
Outstanding leadership skills; ability to motivate, train, develop, and evaluate subordinates
Preferred
Complete fluency in English, preferred competency in Spanish, but not required
