Program Specialist (Outreach Coordinator)
USAJOBS is seeking a Program Specialist (Outreach Coordinator) for the Miami VA Healthcare System. This role is responsible for the development, planning, coordination, implementation, and oversight of the facility-wide Outreach Program.

Responsibilities
Administratively responsible for the programming and daily operations of the outreach activities
Responsible for developing the annual strategic outreach plan for the medical center with ongoing assessment of activities and performance according to the plan
Develops policies and procedures for program operation and prepares reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use
Responsible for the program's budget and various control points assigned to the program within the assigned areas
Coordinating events hosted by officials, with assistance from continuing educational staff and initiatives when warranted
Manages and controls the use of data related to these programs regarding day to day functioning and program evaluation
Plans, coordinates, and attends health fairs, county fairs, state fairs, and any other public functions to include Welcome Home events, Post Deployment Health Reassessments (PDHRA), career fairs, and Stand Downs to help provide information about VA healthcare and benefits, identify Service Members and Veterans in need of case management services, and build relationships and alliances with the community
Collecting and analyzing data from a variety of sources, measuring results, and reporting findings
Serves as VA liaison with Veterans' Service Organizations, community groups, universities and colleges, and others whose interest is in serving Veterans, their families, and their representatives

U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy

Must pass pre-employment physical examination
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP)
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-09 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and education beyond
