Senior Engineer, Systems Integration (Onsite)
Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Engineer, Systems Integration to join their Rockford team supporting the design, development, and service of integrated systems for military and commercial aircraft. The role involves defining system-level requirements, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring system design aligns with specifications and customer requirements.

Responsibilities
Develop electrical sub-systems, including aircraft utilities, power generation, power distribution units, and related components
Apply electrical and/or mechanical engineering principles to design, analyze, and conduct engineering investigations on electronic products
Participate across the full product lifecycle, from requirements analysis through system integration, including verification in integration labs
Work within a structured development process, ensuring all requirements, designs, and test procedures are well-documented and adhered to
Utilize simulation and scripting tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Saber, or Python to support system modeling and analysis
Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly
Prepare clear and concise written reports and deliver presentations to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Preferred
Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical or Electronics Engineering
Experience with electrical sub-systems development, system integration, and verification
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model-Based Development, including autocode generation
Experience with requirement management tools such as DOORS is highly desirable
Knowledge of RTCA, FAA, ARINC, MIL, and ISO specifications preferred
Familiarity with Aircraft Certification requirements related to System Safety and Reliability (ARP4754, ARP4761, FAR/JAR) and Aircraft Electrical System Architecture
Exposure to Built-In Test Equipment design, EMI design, and Aircraft Communications design is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
Proficiency in simulation and scripting tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Saber, or Python is preferred
