Responsibilities
Set up, adjust and operate metal fabrication machinery and equipment to shape structural metal pipe, tube, etc. to specifications
Fabricate directly from drawings and work instructions without supervision
Support all areas of LSI to improve and maintain Lean Manufacturing practices
Collaborates effectively with stakeholders and translates abstract requests into usable solutions
Observes processes on the floor to fully understand needs and engages operators for validation
Produces high-quality and reliable parts, including usage instructions to end users
Quickly pivots to changing project scopes or urgent production needs
Qualification
Required
Basic computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook
Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances
Knowledge of welding symbols and applicable safety standards
Proficient in TIG and MIG welding
Skilled in metal fabrication, including cutting, forming, and machining
Capable of independently interpreting and creating mechanical components and jigs
Able to understand and follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
Experienced in using shop equipment such as welders, saws, and plasma cutters
Motivated to learn mills, lathes, and various hand and inspection tools
Preferred
Strong understanding of metals, plastics, and composites
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
Familiarity with deburring, painting, coating, and prep work
