Responsibilities

Calculate, validate, and process quarterly sales commission payouts with 100% accuracy, owning the end-to-end commission process from reconciling discrepancies to resolving compensation disputes with a solutions-oriented approach
Support monthly and quarterly close processes, including commission accruals and reporting for Finance
Maintain meticulous documentation and audit trails to support internal controls, governance standards, and compliance with compensation policies
Manage and scale our Incentive Compensation Management platform, including plan configuration, calculation logic, reporting automation, and user access, while leading user acceptance testing for new features, data integrations, and system enhancements
Partner with systems and operations teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
Ensure data integrity across systems by collaborating with Sales Operations and Revenue Operations on data workflows
Build and maintain dashboards to track sales performance, quota attainment, commission trends, and compensation metrics, while analyzing data to identify patterns, surface insights, and recommend plan improvements
Perform scenario modeling to support quarterly plan updates and assess the impact of potential changes
Generate clear, actionable insights that guide decisions from individual contributors to senior leadership
Administer sales compensation plans, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures across all segments, while supporting quota deployment, territory alignment, crediting rules, and plan governance processes
Issue compensation plan documents to new hires and during annual planning cycles, and provide clear, timely communication to sales teams on compensation structures, attainment calculations, and payout mechanics
Respond to compensation-related inquiries with clarity, building trust as the go-to expert
Support the conceptualization, design, and implementation of new commission plans, products, and sales motions, while assisting in measuring the effectiveness of incentive programs and providing recommendations for optimization
Drive continuous improvement by streamlining workflows and building processes that scale as Notion grows
Contribute to strategic planning cycles by providing data-driven analysis and modeling

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or equivalent
2–5 years of experience in sales compensation, commissions administration, sales operations, finance, or a related analytical role—preferably at a technology, software, or SaaS company supporting high-growth sales organizations
Proficiency in CRM (Salesforce) and advanced Excel or Google Sheets—you can build complex dashboards, reports, and automations in Salesforce, and create sophisticated financial models using pivot tables, nested lookups, and formulas
Hands-on experience with commission management platforms like Everstage, CaptivateIQ, Spiff, QuotaPath, or Xactly, and a strong understanding of sales commission structures, quota-based incentives, and revenue crediting methodologies
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills—you can analyze complex data, spot trends, and clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
High ownership mentality and strong interpersonal skills—you thrive in ambiguity, work independently across multiple projects, and build trust with stakeholders in Sales, Finance, HR, and Operations

Preferred

Notion power user or eager to learn—you're excited to become an expert, even if you don't have prior experience
Experience with SQL, Tableau, Hex, or other analytics and BI tools to support compensation modeling, benchmarking analysis, and incentive strategy
Experience managing commission plans for AI usage, consumption-based models, and enterprise contracts—including understanding the business flywheel from sales forecasting and CPQ configuration through incentive design and payout mechanics
