Senior Grant Financial Analyst

Responsibilities
Manage budgets, track expenditures, and perform variance analyses for multiple restricted grants. Provide analysis of financial data, trend analysis, forecasts, and the monitoring of key financial metrics
Prepare financial reports and documentation to ensure compliance with grantor requirements and organizational policies. Perform financial data analysis and provide support for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and regulatory reporting
Assist in preparing grant proposal budgets, developing capital budgets, and forecasting financial performance. Provide variance analysis of budget vs. actual results for assigned areas, providing explanations of the causes of any material variances
Conduct research and provides analysis for external business intelligence, as assigned
Maintain and support decision support databases, including updating cost allocations
Perform Ad Hoc project management
Work closely with grant managers, project managers, and other department heads to monitor spending and provide financial information
Support internal and external audits of grant expenditures and ensure meticulous record-keeping
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years related experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of financial and grant budget forecasting
Proficient in a number of computer applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and a variety of other software applications
Experience in data analysis and visualization to draw relevant conclusions
Experience compiling statistical data and preparing a report
Experience in recommending actions through analysis and studying proposed changes in processes
Experience in budgeting, including research grants budgeting, long-term strategic planning, and resource allocation processes
Ability to maintain effective working relationships through solid communication and excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred
Grant funding knowledge is a must
Master's Degree
Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software such as Workday, Netsuite, or Salesforce, and strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Analytical Skills: Excellent ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and solve problems
Organizational Skills and Program Management Skills: Strong ability to manage complex financial information and maintain meticulous records for multiple projects, and the ability to lead multiple and cross-functional initiatives simultaneously
Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with grant-specific financial regulations and reporting requirements, including those from agencies like the IRS
Communication: Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders and clearly explain financial information
