Grants Budget Analyst

Responsibilities
Annual monthly department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls
Develop, prepare, and monitor budgets for new and continuing grant applications, contracts, and subawards
Conduct financial forecasting and assist investigators with carryforward planning and resource allocation
Prepare detailed internal financial reports and projections for IHD leadership and PIs
Ensure all financial activities align with sponsor guidelines and institutional policies
Support pre-award budgeting and post-award management in coordination with OSP and Contracts
Review and process budget revisions. Communicate with OSP for no-cost extensions, cost transfers, and effort certifications
Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and accuracy in grant financial management
Serve as a subject matter expert and resource to faculty, staff, and leadership regarding grant budgeting and compliance
Use the Marketplace financial system to create requisitions and stipend payments
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience
Considerable knowledge of (or ability to rapidly assimilate and retain) University operating procedures, organization and policies
Knowledge of business principles, practices and techniques
Knowledge of electronic information systems and accounting systems
Ability to work accurately with numerical detail consistently and to perform financial operations legibly
Experience managing budget information and accurately recording financial transactions
Ability to keep complex records
Ability to assemble and organize, prepare, and submit reports in acceptable formats
Ability to read and analyze fiscal management information and to assist in formulating solutions to problems
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Strong communications skills
Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed
Preferred
Experience managing grant budget information and accurately recording financial transactions
Experience with NIH, HRSA, or other federal funding agencies
Familiarity with UNT System chartstrings and financial workflow processes
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a complex, fast-paced environment
