Instrumentation and Controls Technician

They are seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Technician responsible for the calibration, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and installation of site instrumentation and controls within a Combined Cycle power plant.

Responsibilities
Maintain and repair all electrical, instrumentation and control systems on site
Perform calibration as required on all control system input and output devices. Example: transmitters, control valves, etc
Maintain power distribution equipment including switchgear, motor control centers, power distribution panels, etc
Assist in improvement of maintenance procedures and record keeping
Maintain Gas Turbine Continuous Emissions Monitoring System
Support Operations and Maintenance personnel as required
Comply with all applicable environmental, health, and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment
Qualification
Required
Minimum high school diploma graduate or equivalent
Minimum 4 years progressively responsible experience in power plant, marine, refinery, or similar industries
Proficient in calibration and troubleshooting of Instrumentation
Experience with repair or replacement of process control instrumentation
Fundamental knowledge of programmable logic controllers or distributed control systems
Fundamental knowledge of electrical distribution equipment
Able to use test instruments for electrical testing and troubleshooting
Available for call-outs during the week and weekends
Willing to learn equipment operation, troubleshooting and repair from Manufacturers Manuals or other information
Able to climb ladders and stairs to access equipment installed within the power plant
Able to pass a pre-hire background check, drug screening, and physical exam
Preferred
Installation, setup, and troubleshooting of networks and network switches
Demonstrated knowledge in calibration and troubleshooting of instrumentation with record of success outside of school
Experience in Maintenance Management System
Experience with troubleshooting and repair without established procedures
Knowledge of Modbus concept
Familiarization with the National Electrical Code
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Electronics Technology or Electronics Engineering Technology
Willing to share knowledge and experience with other technicians in the group
Proficient in using computers running Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft programs Word, Excel, etc
Flexible, adapts well to changes in scope and schedule
Thrives on variety, learning, and cooperation
Collaborates effectively in a team setting
Qualified to operate aerial lift, scissor lift, forklift
