Power Systems Engineer
General Dynamics is a leading company in high technology solutions, products, and services for defense and scientific missions. They are seeking a Power Systems Engineer to develop Undersea Communication Systems as part of a cross-functional team, requiring expertise in high voltage DC power systems and circuit design.

Responsibilities
Developing Undersea Communication Systems
Designing high voltage DC power systems and modules
Conducting circuit design and analysis
Troubleshooting and testing circuit boards and assemblies
Writing specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for electronic systems
Collaborating with design teams for complex projects
Qualification
Required
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field
Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience
Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred
Agile experience preferred
High Voltage DC Power systems / Module design. Experience should include multiple power topology design experience from few watts to KW+ converters
High voltage applications, power transmission systems, power electronics and HVDC technology
Deep understanding of electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design
Solid use of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
Circuit Design expertise
Analog design and instrumentation (design and analysis)
Circuit board test and troubleshooting expertise
Isolated Switching Converters
Fiber optic experience with transmitters, receivers, optical passives and fiber handling are desirable
Strong troubleshooting ability: must be able to diagnose a problem by narrowing the point of failure sequentially through components
Experience in the use of specialized laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment for development, testing, and troubleshooting
Experience in working in a lab environment building circuit cards, assemblies, and modules
Experience in writing specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for complex electronic systems and components
Experience with Worst Case Circuit Analysis and FMEA for both design and diagnosis applications
Ahead of technology trends with Research & Development (R&D) experience, as well as advanced proficiency in test, troubleshooting, and analyzing circuit card schematics
Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design
Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with demonstrated success leading design teams for complex projects
Team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
Ability to travel as needed
