ARES Corporation is seeking a Software Safety Engineer (Advanced) to support the Missile Defense Agency at Redstone Arsenal in the development and testing of an integrated Missile Defense System. The role involves providing high-quality professional services for Agency-wide Safety, including the development and execution of safety policies and programs, as well as technical and program management support.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and review of engineering, research, and risk studies and technical reports

Interface with our client

Attend project meetings and prepare presentations

Status tasks and track schedules

Assist with marketing and proposal preparation

Qualification

System Safety EngineeringSoftware Safety ProcessesSafety AssessmentsTechnical Problem SolvingDOD Security Clearance

Required

Experience working system and software safety processes, as described in MIL-STD 882 (Rev E preferred), during design, development, use, and maintenance of safety-critical software systems and their integration with safety-critical hardware systems

Demonstrated experience developing and presenting safety assessments to a diverse audience

Demonstrated experience developing technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity

Current DOD Security Clearance

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from ABET accredited institution and 8 years' experience in system Safety engineering

A Bachelor's degree in scientific fields (e.g. Physics, Engineering Technology, Computer Science) with 10 years' demonstrated skill and relevant experience in system Safety engineering or software system Safety engineering is also qualified

Preferred

Preferred experience with AMCOM 385-17, Joint Software System Safety Engineering Handbook or NASA Software Safety Guidebook
